Hosted by Marcus O’Sullivan, Director of Villanova University Track & Field and Cross Country, and a 4-time Olympian, 3-time World Champion. Marcus has hosted the Day of Distance since its inception in 1999.
Coach Mike McCabe led Union Catholic to numerous county, state and national titles, and his squads have broken multiple national records, earned several All-America honors during his illustrious career. In 2021, Coach MCabe’s boys cross country team won the NJ State Meet of Champions and placed 4th in the Garmin RunningLane National Championship in Huntsville, AL. In 2017, Coach McCabe was named Girls State Coach of the Year by NJ.com, and was named USA Today’s ALL-USA Girls Coach of the Year for the 2019 outdoor campaign.
Desmond Dunham, is one of the most decorated high school coaches in the country with national All-Americans, national championships, and international titles from the short sprints up to the distance events, including cross-country. Coach Dez currently is the Director and Head Coach of track & field and cross-country at St. John’s College High School
Sonia O’Sullivan, is a 4-time Olympian and 3-time World Champion and Ireland’s most crowned sportswoman. Her illustrious career in middle-distance disciplines spanned the 1990s and culminated with an Olympic silver medal in the 5,000m in Sydney. Sonia is currently coaching the Nike training group in Portland, Oregon
Mark Jarvis is the Head Girl’s Track and Cross Country Coach at Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ. Coach Jarvis was recently named State Coach of The Year. His team won every meet they entered this season, including the New Jersey State Meet of Champions and the Nike Regional Cross Country Championship.
Jim Radcliffe, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Oregon. During his almost 30 year tenure, he has established himself as a highly-respected teacher, coach and author. An active clinician throughout the country, he is widely recognized as one of the leading authorities regarding exercise for the development of strength, speed and agility.
Scott Christensen’s Stillwater High School teams have been ranked in the national top 10 eight times. He won the 1997 High School National Championship and his squads have captured multiple Minnesota State Championships. Four Stillwater alumni have broken 4:00 in the mile since leaving the program. Coach Christensen has coached 13 Minnesota State Championship-winning teams and 27 individual Minnesota State Champions. He was also the high school coach of Olympian Ben Blankenship. Coach Christensen was the USTFCCCA Endurance Specialist School junior team leader for the World Cross Country Team in 2003 and the senior team leader in 2008. He also coached Ben Blankenship. Coach Christensen is a 18-year USATF Level II endurance lead instructor and a 8-year USTFCCCA Endurance Specialist.
